Overall the Viper 460XV alarm system is a must for any car. It has many features such as 3 point immobilization, field disturbance sensors, a siren that charges itself up when the engine is running, and many programmable options via the remote control key fob. This product is highly recommended. You could fit it your self if you have an advanced technical knowledge in electrics, if not, then you'd probably be best taking it to a garage/alarm specialist to do, as it really is a complicated system and at best takes an entire day to do.

Viper 5701

Bad Points

This is a well built product with much thought put into it. The two way feature is nice and powersaving compared to other two way remotes. With normal use you should get about a year before you have to change the lithium ion.

Viper 5900SST 2 Way Alarm & Remote Start

General Comments
This Responder SST System from Viper is a 2-way Security and Remote Start system! The interactive display on your Responder remote confirms all commands – virtually instantly – with easy to understand icons and text. It alerts users to security system triggers by beeping or vibrating when out of audible range of the siren. And of course this system will also start your vehicle with the push of a button, and you will get confirmation back that it started from up to one mile away. Please refer to the technology section for more information about Responder SST technology.

Viper 791XV Responder 2-Way LCD & Remote Start

If you are looking for a top of the line car starter and security system this one fits the bill. I was primarily looking for a car starter with some security and ended up getting a top of line starter/security system with 2 way remote. The system starts the car and the remote shows you a "puff" of smoke to indicate it has started. The remote also gives you all kinds of information, doors ajar, locked, unlocked and.....if someone tries to enter the car through a door, hood, trunk or glass the unit will display this on the remote. The distance it works from is very good.
Note, if your car is equipped with an immobilizer key, you will also have to get the bypass unit. If you do need a bypass unit be sure to go to your auto dealer prior to installation to get an extra key made and programmed, bring all of your car keys because they will most likely need to reprogram all of them.
If you are a first time buyer for a car starter/security system I strongly recommend that you download and read the entire manual before purchasing, this will give you the ability to ask questions and have the system and remote set to the options you want, including remote illumination, car run time, etc. After I left the dealer and read the manual I realized that there were things they did not explain to me, and there were items I did not want set to the defaults, for instance, the default running time for the car is 12 minutes. I went back to the dealer and had them change it to 24 minutes. Also, using the valet mode for servicing etc is not really explained in the manual. Be sure to have the dealer explain this to you and how to use the remote to enter the valet mode.
Note: According to the manual, the unit must be installed by a licensed dealer or the warranty is voided.
If you are looking for a car starter and would not mind paying a little extra, I highly recommend this until Bottom line, if you want a warm car in the winter or a cool one in the summer along with added security and a really cool remote, this unit is worth the extra cost.
