Security Vehicles

Once your property is secure, you may want to consider your security whilst away from your home. Why not consider a security vehicle to protect you and your family whilst you are out and about, on the move.
One such example of a security vehicle that combines the very latest security technology and is superbly equipped to fend off attacks is the BMW Security 5 Series armoured car.

22mm Security Glass

The 22mm (0.86 inch) security glass that protects the BMW Security 5 Series is highly effective against handgun fire and an attack with a blunt instrument. It is made from a glass/plastic laminate with a polycarbonate coating on the inside to prevent flying splinters. This windshield will protect against handguns such as the.44 Magnum and 9mm Luger.

Armoured Passenger Cell

The vehicle is excellently equipped to withstand attacks from handguns such as the.44 Magnum and 9mm Luger.as well as baseball bats and other blunt instruments. The entire passenger cell is armoured and satisfies the requirements of ballistic protection level VR4.

Attack Alarm & Intercom System

The security 5 Series is equipped with a panic attack alarm which will cause a siren to sound for 30 seconds together with the cars indicator lights. The headlights and fog lights also flash on and off thus creating enough noise to evade an intruder. As an extra security measure, all of the doors are locked and windows are closed and the alarm cannot be deactivated during the 30 second period. All this is activated by the touch of the panic button.
The intercom system will allow the occupants to communicate with people outside of the vehicle without having to open doors or windows. There are sensitive microphones on the outside of the vehicle to enable the passengers to be able to listen to what is happening outside.

Vehicle Armour Plating

To maintain a lower weight whilst still providing seamless protection a high quality and highly effective material is used inside the doors for the armour plating. Polyethylene is the same material found in bulletproof police vests and absorbs the impact energy of a projectile especially well due to its structure. Not only is it bullet-proof, it is also resilient to acid, heat and fire.

Run-Flat Tyres

When the pressure drops in these tyres you can still continue to drive on them at limited speed, instead of having to do an unpleasant and unsafe roadside tyre change. There is no need to carry a spare tyres as these tyres are in fact their own spares. You can continue to drive up to 90 miles at a speed of up to 50 mph without any significant detriment to vehicle stability. The special wheel rims of the run-flat tyre ensure that the tyre will not detach whilst cornering.
